Spring Activities Bring Joy, Learning, Hope

A sure sign of spring is United Methodist Women’s Garden Party and Plant Swap, Saturday, April 28,     10 a.m. in church’s Legacy Hall.  The event includes brunch, a very special program, devotions, and the plant swap.  Come with or without plants.

Every 5th Sunday we have the chance to support the Holston Home for Children with a special offering.  You can take a virtual tour and sign up for their newsletter at https://holstonhome.org

Since the risen Jesus Christ tells us to go into all the world with the good news of God’s love for all people, we have some overseas projects too.  We are now collecting School Kits for Libya.  Supplies needed include backpacks, rulers, compass and protractor for math, pens, pencils, erasers, chalk, pencil sharpeners, notebooks, small Bibles.  Check the church newsletter and bulletins for details about exactly what to purchase.

Do you have a yearning for learning?
Then come to the Tuesday Lectionary Bible study at 10:30 a.m.   On Tuesdays, we study the Scriptures that will be used in the following Sunday service.   However, you can find and download or read online all the daily Scripture portions suggested in the Revised Common Lectionary.

Our Faith-Sharing Bible Study continues on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. and is repeated at 6 p.m.   It’s based on the book of the same name.
Not everyone can always attend the weekly sessions, but everyone can read it.  Some congregational planning and ministries will be based on what we learn and decide together.
