GriefShare  Groups Offer Help After Losing a Loved One

GRIEFSHARE’s current session began March 13.  It runs for 13 weeks and is open to anyone in the church or community.  To join the next group, which also will meet at First UMC, Copperhill, please call the church office: 423-496-4931 or send an email to:  griefsharecopperhill@gmail.com.

GriefShare is a Bible-based, Christ-centered support group program for anyone who is suffering from the death of a loved one.  It is open to everyone in the community.  Each session includes a video seminar and group discussion.  A workbook helps you with note-taking, journaling, and grief study.  Although it’s nice for everyone to start at the same time, each session is “self-contained.”  This means you can join the group after the 13-week sessions have begun.

Who Should Come to GriefShare?
This support group is for people grieving a person’s death.  Of course there are other losses in life that cause a person to grieve.  For example, you might have lost a job, recently been divorced, or lost custody of a child.  Such types of grief are real but are not the kind discussed in GriefShare.  Ask your pastor or a counselor to locate help for such circumstances.

Is GriefShare just for members of First United Methodist Church of Copperhill?
Absolutely not.  Anyone can come!    Here’s JoAnne, to tell you how GriefShare has helped her:
